Dr Cheng He is the Vice President of Research and Development at MiRXES, a biotechnology company dedicated to the early detection of disease through microRNA-based diagnostics. MiRXES has been a pioneer in translating RNA biology into clinically actionable tools, particularly in the area of cancer screening.

One of their flagship innovations is the GASTROClear test, a blood-based diagnostic that enables the detection of gastric cancer at early stages—when intervention can significantly improve patient outcomes. This represents a major step forward in shifting cancer management from late-stage treatment to early detection and prevention.

Originally trained in materials science, Dr Cheng He brings a multidisciplinary perspective to biomedical innovation. After being invited by the company’s co-founders to join MiRXES, he recognized the urgent clinical need for early cancer detection and has since played a central role in building the company’s R&D capabilities. Under his leadership, MiRXES has helped demonstrate the transformative potential of RNA biology in medicine - even before the global spotlight on RNA technologies brought about by mRNA vaccines.
