Dr Brendon Huijun Zhou is a Senior Health Economist at CRTU with tertiary training in public health, clinical research, biostatistics, epidemiology, and health economics through sponsored Master and PhD program at NUS. In his current role he leads Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) projects, teaches on HTA/HEOR and evidence synthesis workshops, and advises government, industry, and academic stakeholders. His current interest is in applying cutting edge, AI enhanced methodologies to raise the quality and policy relevance of evidence synthesis and health economic evaluation.
As a researcher, Dr Zhou’s work is coherent yet diverse, spanning clinical research, epidemiology, HTA, and HEOR, and has produced more than 40 peer reviewed publications. He has secured research funding as Principal Investigator (RMB 1.35 million) and received multiple awards at academic conferences and from his university. In 2019 his research contributions were recognized with the “Oriental Scholar” award from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and being employed as Distinguished Professor. His studies have informed drug subsidy decisions, care model optimization, health policy making, and guideline updating in both China and Singapore.
As an educator, he has supervised and co supervised Master and PhD students in China and Singapore, helping to develop the next generation of health economists and researchers. He has extensive teaching experience in HEOR at both undergraduate and graduate levels across academic and industry settings.
As an advisor, he has served as an external expert to public hospitals and provincial health authorities in China and brought practical industry experience from his role as HEOR Lead with MNC pharma company.
